☝✨?? Rs.92,26,000/- ka Gold seized in last 2 days at Mumbai Airport
1⃣ On 29.07.2017, one passenger Mr. Kishore Kumar Khera (34) holding Fijian passport, arrived from Fiji via Singapore to Mumbai by Jet Airways flight no. 9W 0009 was followed and intercepted by the AIU officers.
✨ The detailed search of the passenger resulted into the recovery of 12 bangles, 6 gold pendants, 3 gold chains & 2 gold payals, all 24 carat crude jewellery, totally weighing 1055 gms valued at Rs. 31,13,000/- from his hand bag and on body. Accordingly, the recovered gold was seized and a case was booked. The passenger was arrested.
☝ Mr. Kishore Khera is a resident of Fiji since last 16 years and is into jewellery business.
2⃣ On 30.07.2017, one passenger Mr. Shahid Iqbal (26) was intercepted from the domestic Airport Mumbai, who had arrived from Kolkata by SpiceJet Flight No. SG 488.
✨ During the personal search of the said passenger, four cut pieces of foreign marking gold bars weighing 1074 gms valued at Rs. 31,63,000/- were recovered from the shoes worn by him. The said gold bars were earlier brought by one person from Bangkok to Kolkata by concealing the same under one passenger seat of SpiceJet flight No. SG 084 dated 30.07.2017 and the same aircraft has further arrived to domestic sector, Mumbai, from which the passenger has removed and concealed the said gold bars in his shoes. The case was booked and the passenger was arrested.
☝ Mr. Shahid Iqbal is a resident of Kolkata city and operates chain of restaurants by name ‘Al-Hayat’.
3⃣ On night of 31.07.2017, based on suspicion and profiling, one passenger Mr. Dipesh Kashiani (33) having Indian passport who arrived from Bangkok by Air India flight # AI 331 was intercepted. He was found carrying one Lord Buddha statue in his checked-in-baggage which was noticed to be unusually heavy raising doubt of some concealment. The passenger was unable to give satisfactory reply. On sustained questioning, he had conceded that one person in Bangkok had handed over the said statue to him to be delivered to someone outside CSI Airport in Mumbai.
✨ On detailed examination of the said statue, two cut pieces of 24 carat gold totally weighing 998 gms valued at Rs. 29,50,000/- were found concealed inside the lead metallic basal portion of the statue. A case has been booked and the passenger was arrested.
☝ Sh. Dipesh Kashiani is a civil work contractor who runs a private firm by name DPS Construction in Mumbai.
